Squarespace website design for service businesses

 You know what you do.

     Now everyone else

                will too.

Whether you're starting from scratch or replacing a site you’ve outgrown, the goal is the same.

A website built around clear thinking, so the right people understand what you do, why it matters, and why they should choose you.

Fast, focused website sprints. Done properly.

STRATEGIC WEBSITES

A smart website built on brand strategy

Most websites don't fail because they look bad, they fail because they don’t clearly position the business in a way that resonates with the right audience.

Most website designers start with design.

As a brand strategist, I work differently. I start with the thinking: what you do, who it’s for and why someone should choose you. Then I create a site around that.

This results in a site that's clear, credible and structured to convert — not just one that looks nice.

A website that:

makes what you do easy to understand
helps the right people recognise themselves quickly
attracts better-fit enquiries
reduces how much you have to explain on calls
gives you something you can confidently send people to

And because I work in focused sprints, you get it fast. No endless back and forth. No scope creep. No surprises.

THE PROCESS

How it works

Every Squarespace website project runs as a focused sprint — so you have my full attention, things keep moving, and your site goes live fast. No juggling. No waiting around.

DONE FOR YOU

Start Strong

Before your Sprint

You'll receive my guided framework — a structured document that walks you through exactly what's needed for each page and how to write it. No blank page, no guesswork.

Then we have a 30-minute clarity call to go over what you've pulled together, get aligned, and make sure everything's ready before we build. Your week doesn't start until it is.

Days 1-2 Design & direction

I build the structure and visual direction of your site and share it for your review. You give feedback. We get aligned.

Days 3–4 Build & refine

Full build based on your feedback. Pages come together, content goes in, mobile optimised throughout.

Day 5 Final review & launch

We do a final check together. SEO basics, domain setup, Google Search Console. Then we go live.

DONE WITH YOU

Make Moves

Before your Sprint fortnight

Strategic Brand Positioning workshop
Before we touch the website, we do the thinking. A dedicated positioning workshop where we work through your market, your competitors, what sets you apart and how to say it.

This sits outside the two-week sprint deliberately — good positioning needs a beat of space before you build on it. This is where I do the strategic heavy lifting. You show up, contribute and review.

Week 1 - Messaging & creative direction

With positioning locked, I write your website copy and develop your visual direction simultaneously — the way it should work. Any brand evolution or creative changes that came out of the workshop get resolved here too. By the end of week one, the thinking, the words, and the creative direction are all agreed upon.

Week 2 — Build, refine & launch

Full Squarespace build. Refinements. SEO and AI search optimisation. Mobile testing. Legal pages. Domain and GSC setup. Final review together, then we go live.

ABOUT ME

One expert. All in.

I'm Carla Heath, a positioning-led brand strategist and Squarespace website designer.

Before working independently, I built and led a 35-person London Brand Agency, working with businesses like M&S Food, Tesco and Holland & Barrett. Now I bring that same strategic thinking to independent founder-led service businesses - without the agency overhead.

So you get big brand thinking, senior attention right the way through the sprint combined with the experience of running my own small businesses.

If you’re interested in the broader strategic work I do, you can find out more on my main website here.

I gave Carla a demanding challenge as I have several roles and client types. However, she positioned me perfectly and created a beautiful site that helped me win a new client within a week of launch.

FAQs.

How much does a Squarespace website cost for a service business?

Squarespace website design for service businesses typically ranges from £2,500 to £10,000+ depending on how much strategy, messaging, and complexity is involved. My packages start at £2,950 for a fast, strategist-led build and £6,950 for a full reset including positioning, copywriting and custom design.

What makes your Squarespace websites different?

I'm a brand strategist first and a website designer second. That means every site starts with the thinking — clear positioning, structured messaging, a logical flow that helps visitors understand what you do and why they should choose you. Most designers start with how it looks. I start with what it needs to say.

How long does it take to build a Squarespace website?

Many designers and agencies work on websites over a couple of months. I work in sprints. Start Strong is delivered in one week. Make Moves takes two weeks. Both include my full attention for the duration — no juggling multiple clients, no waiting around.

What's not included?

Domain registration, hosting fees, third party integrations and stock images are not included in either package.

How do I get started?

Book a free 30-minute call. We'll talk through where you are, what you need and which package makes sense. No hard sell — just a straight conversation. So yes — you can build it yourself. But if you want a website that’s clear, strategic, and designed to convert, that’s where this process comes in.

Will my Squarespace website be optimised for SEO and AI search?

Yes. All sites are built with clear structure, page hierarchy, metadata, keyword-aligned messaging and a layout search engines can understand. Reset includes deeper SEO and AI search optimisation. Start Strong includes SEO basics as standard.

Is Squarespace a good platform for service-based businesses?

Yes. Squarespace is one of the best platforms for service businesses that need a clear, professional website without ongoing technical complexity.

It’s ideal for most services businesses including Accountants, Lawyers, Consultants, Engineers, Coaches and any expert-led businesses who want a site that’s easy to manage, flexible to update, and built to convert.

Can I use AI or a template to build my website myself?

Yes you can as the tools now are better than ever, a lot of the templates look good and AI can generate content quickly.
But the challenge isn’t building a website. It’s knowing what to say, how to position it, and how to structure it so it actually works.

Most DIY websites struggle because:

  • the positioning isn’t clear

  • the messaging is generic or inconsistent

  • the structure doesn’t guide someone to take action

  • everything makes sense to you — but not to your audience

AI can generate words.
Templates can provide layout.
But neither can:

  • define what makes your business different

  • shape a clear, credible message

  • structure a website around how people actually decide to buy

That’s what makes the difference.

So yes — you can build it yourself. But if you want a website that’s clear, strategic, and designed to convert, that’s where this process comes in.
